'Gandhiji's teachings can still change people'
Mahatma Gandhi's teachings, particularly non-violence, could still change the destinies of people and nations, Jean Charest, Premier of Canadian province of Quebec, has said. "The doctrine of conflict resolution theory, new environmentalism, peace research, deep ecology, and Buddhist economics based on Gandhian principles, renews the world's belief in Mahatma and his teachings for our life and our time," he said. Unveiling a bust of Mahatma at a splendid location opposite to the Quebec's Parliament complex at a highly symbolic event, Charest said the Western and Indian influences that had gone into making Gandhi the Mahatma, and the central importance of Gandhi to non-violent activism, could still change the destinies of people and nations. Shyamala B Cowsik, the High Commissioner of India to Canada said: "As India celebrates the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi's Satyagraha movement, it is more than ever that the world realizes the failure of violence to achieve anything, anywhere. A world torn apart looks back at Gandhi and his firmness in a force, which is born of truth and love or non-violence." The bust of Mahatma, sculpted by famous sculptor Gautam Pal, sits atop a 5-ft pedestal, is a gift from the Government of India to the province of Quebec........................................................

हुन त कुनै पनि क्षेत्रको बिकास हुनुमा सम्बन्धित क्षेत्रको वासिन्दाको ठुलो हात हुन्छ । तर पनि भौतिक बिकास गर्न चाँही अलि ठुलै रकम चाँहीने गर्छ । यो कुरो प्रमाण हामीले बिभिन्न क्षेत्र मा देख् न सक्छौ। तर अहिले काठमान्डौ मा बिभिन्न ग्रामीण क्षेत्रमा हामीले हेर्ने हो भने बौध्द मार्गिहरुको गुम्बा हरु देख्छौ , उक्त गुम्बाहरु बनाउन उनिहरुले बाटो घाटओ को बेवस्था गर्ने, कच्ची बाटो पक्की गर्ने लगायत का धारा पानीको बेवस्था गर्ने गर्द छन । उक्त कदम एकदम राम्रो र सकरात्मक अनि अनुकरणिय छ भन्ने जस्तो मलाई लाग्छ । उदाहरण को लागि हामी सितापाईंला, कपन्, किर्तिपुर लगायत का अन्य ठाउँ लाई लिन सक्छौ ।गुम्बा हरु ले धार्मिक् सद्भाव् बढा उने कुरामा पनि सबैको एकमत् हुन्छ ।

Good news for SLC appearing studentsMinistry of Education and Sports (MoES) on Tuesday decided to take School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination only from the syllabus prescribed for grade X, beginning from the academic session 2063 B.S. Laba Prasad Tripathi, spokesperson of the MoES said the decision to this effect was made Tuesday as per suggestions recommended by 'SLC Study Group for MoES' constituted under the convenorship of educationist Kedar Bhakta Mathema two years ago. The MoES, in accordance with Secondary Education Syllabus 2055 BS, had been taking SLC exam from the syllabus of both Grade IX and X until the last academic session. This had caused high percentage of failures in SLC exam every academic session.
I think this is really a good news for those students who are appearing SLC examination. I think this will increase the pass pecentage( and this will decrease the suicide rate because the failure in SLC is one of the main cause of suicide in Nepal). I would like to say that it is the positive step toward the future of students.

केही वर्ष देखि इन्जिनीयरिङ्ग क्षेत्रले युवाहरुलाई आकर्शित गरिरहेको कुरो सबै लाई थाहा छ । तर हाल आएर इन्जिनीयरिङ्ग क्षेत्रमा पनि विशेश गरी सिविल इन्जिनीयरिङ्ग मा युवाहरु को बढ्दो रुची देखिएको छ । यसको प्रमाण को रुपमा हामी आज भोलिका पत्रीकाहरु हेर्न सक्छौ । प्राइभेट इन्जिनीयरिङ्ग कलेज मा पनि सिविल इन्जिनीयरिङ्ग मा भर्ना पुरा भ इसकेको देखिन्छ । नेपालको लागि अहिले सिविल इन्जिनीयर हरुको खाँचो छ ताकी दिर्घकालीन योजना हरु बनाउदा राम्रो सँग बनोस् । तर यसको अर्थ यो होइन कि अरु इन्जिनीयर को काम छैन ।
